Oral Surgery Dental Assistant – Travel Position

What You'll Do

As an Oral Surgery Dental Assistant, you'll play an important role in supporting the Oral Surgeon and providing a positive experience for patients. Your responsibilities will include:

• Assist the Oral Surgeon during oral surgery and surgical dental procedures
• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for procedures
• Maintain appropriate infection control and sterile technique
• Take digital dental radiographs as needed
• Prepare patients for procedures and help them feel comfortable throughout their visit
• Provide patients with pre-operative and post-operative instructions
• Monitor patients and communicate concerns to the Oral Surgeon and dental team
• Maintain accurate and thorough patient records
• Ensure surgical instruments and equipment are properly prepared and maintained
• Communicate effectively with dental teams at each office location
• Help maintain an organized, clean, and efficient surgical environment

What We're Looking For

• Active Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license in Iowa required
• Dental assisting experience preferred
• Previous oral surgery or surgical dental experience is a plus
• Willing to train the right Dental Assistant who is interested in oral surgery
• Strong communication and patient care skills
• Compassionate and professional chairside manner
• Excellent attention to detail
• Organized and dependable
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
• Adaptable and able to work in different office environments
• Willingness and ability to travel between Kimball & Beecher locations

Travel & Schedule

This is a traveling oral surgery position supporting our Oral Surgeon at multiple Kimball & Beecher offices throughout Iowa. Our locations include: Des Moines, Marshalltown, Bettendorf, Waterloo, Cedar Falls, Iowa City, Cedar Rapids, Bondurant, Fairfield, and Clive. Because you'll work with different teams and in different offices, flexibility, adaptability, and a positive attitude are essential.
