Cloud Solutions ArchitectCastalia Systems is supporting a U.S. Government customer to provide support for onsite incident response to civilian Government agencies and critical asset owners who experience cyber-attacks, providing immediate investigation and resolution. Contract personnel perform investigations to characterize the severity of breaches, develop mitigation plans, and assist with the restoration of services. Castalia is seeking a Cloud Solutions Architect to support this critical customer mission.Roles and ResponsibilitiesA qualified candidate will perform the following duties and responsibilities, but are not limited to:Design, optimize, and enhance cloud-based architectures to support ESS operational requirements.Creating scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions that enable rapid deployment and customization of engagement infrastructure across diverse mission scenarios.Lead planning and implementation for migration of on-prem capabilities into the AWS cloudCustomize capabilities to align with engagement scope, technical, and operational parametersDevelop automation frameworks to streamline provisioning and deployment processesCreate and maintain infrastructure-as-code templates and documentationEnsure architecture supports rapid reconfiguration for dynamic mission needsImplement security controls including encryption, namespace obfuscation, and hardened configurationsCollaborate with DevOps engineers to enhance CI/CD pipelinesEvaluate and recommend new cloud services and technologies to improve operational capabilitiesConduct architecture reviews and provide technical guidance to implementation teamsSupport troubleshooting of complex architectural issues during active operationsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)5+ years of experience designing cloud architectures, preferably on AWS8+ years of directly relevant experienceStrong expertise in AWS services including EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, Lambda, and CloudFormationExperience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.)Deep understanding of cloud security best practices and compliance requirementsProven ability to design scalable, resilient, and cost-effective solutionsStrong documentation and technical communication skillsExperience with automation and scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell)Preferred QualificationsTS/SCI preferredAWS Certified Solutions Architect – ProfessionalExperience designing solutions for cybersecurity or incident response operationsKnowledge of multi-cloud or hybrid cloud architecturesExperience with SplunkExperience migrating on-prem legacy systems to a cloud environmentExperience with Azure and EntraExperience with container orchestration (Kubernetes, ECS)Familiarity with federal compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, NIST)Background in system administration or DevOpsPhysical Requirements/Work EnvironmentNormal office environment.TravelAs neededCompany DescriptionCastalia Systems is a proven business partner providing mission critical solutions to the Federal Government. The projected compensation range for this position is $187,000.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD).
