Allied Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Allied Healthcare Professional needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available

Job Details:

• Work 4 x 10-hour day shifts
• Weekend and holiday coverage as needed
• On-call/callback responsibilities per unit needs
• Call schedule includes 1-2 times per week and 1-2 weekends per month
• Must have neurosurgery/neuroscience experience
• Two years of experience required
• BLS certification from American Heart Association required
• New York state technician license required
• AART certification required
• VIR experience preferred
• Select exposure factors and positioning to produce diagnostic quality radiologic images
• Administer oral contrast as needed per examination
• Instruct and prepare patients for radiographic/fluoroscopic examinations
• Assist radiologist during procedures
• Operate all x-ray equipment, CR and DR systems
• Complete assigned procedures in timely manner
• Use Hospital Information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS) and PACS
• Maintain medication security and patient confidentiality
• Answer technical telephone inquiries from physicians and hospital personnel
• Provide healthcare services to all age groups

This major academic medical center operates a comprehensive interventional radiology department with specialized neurosurgery and neuroscience services. The facility provides extensive training programs for radiologic technologists transitioning to neuro IR, typically offering up to six months of specialized training. The department emphasizes quality patient care across all age groups and maintains advanced imaging technology including CR, DR systems, and comprehensive PACS integration.
