This position directly supports the integration of Joint Commercial Operations (JCO) and Tactical Surveillance, Reconnaissance, and Tracking (TacSRT) capabilities into United States Space Force (USSF) and joint/combined exercises. The Exercise SME ensures that commercial sensing, data fusion, and analytic products are validated and exercised effectively to fulfill Combatant Command (CCMD) and Component Command operational requirements. Key responsibilities include leading the design and implementation of comprehensive training and exercise initiatives for JCO tools, driving personnel readiness, and continuously enhancing training methodologies.

This role is a unique opportunity to significantly influence the effectiveness of the JCO's Training & Exercise Program, aligning exercise objectives closely with strategic operational goals. We seek proactive individuals passionate about operational readiness, adept at clear communication, and comfortable thriving within dynamic, collaborative environments.

Position Responsibilities :

Lead planning and execution of military exercises that integrate JCO/TacSRT capabilities into Service, Joint, and Allied events (e.g., Resolute Space, Freedom Shield/Polaris Hammer, Talisman Sabre, etc.).

Coordinate scenario development, exercise injects, and Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) validation for commercial space-based commercial capabilities used in Space Domain Awareness Protect and Defend and TacSRT environments.

Liaise with exercise planners from USSF Delta units, Combatant Commands (e.g., USSPACECOM)/ Space Component Commands, Joint Staff J7, and other mission partners).

Integrate commercial sensor tasking, data routing, and analytic product delivery timelines into operational scenarios.

Capture and analyze lessons learned, assess effectiveness of commercial capabilities, and recommend improvements to TacSRT integration strategies.

Support white cell, control cell, or observer/controller roles during execution phases to ensure realism and technical accuracy of commercial capabilities.

Develop after-action reports (AARs), brief senior leaders, and contribute to capability maturation roadmaps and strategy documents.

Assist in development of training plans and Concepts of Operations (CONOPS) for repeatable integration of commercial capabilities in future exercises.

Planning, developing, executing, and analyzing joint assessments, wargames, Tabletop Exercises (TTXs), Rehearsal of Concept (ROC) drills, and seminars.

Providing SME support across multiple joint mission areas, including Humanitarian Aid and Disaster Relief (HADR) and Illegal Resource Extraction (IRE).

Managing the Joint Training Information Management System (JTIMS) and supporting the execution of the Joint Training & Execution System.

Developing Master Scenario Events and implementing them to achieve training objectives.

Assisting in the development of the Joint Exercise Control Group (JECG) architecture and personnel training requirements.

Requirements :

Bachelor's degree required

Proven experience with 4+ years of joint exercise planning, development, and execution, preferably with US Space Force, US Air Force, or Combatant Command components.

Exceptional communication skills and ability to work effectively and coordinate with diverse stakeholders, including commercial vendors and allied international partners.

Strong understanding of commercial space capabilities, Space Domain Awareness, and Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance operations.

Proficiency in creating training materials using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides), and adaptability to other emerging tool suites.

Self-motivation with a collaborative mindset, capable of working effectively within a team environment and independently.

Must be eligible to obtain Security clearance.

Preferred Requirements :
