DEPARTMENT: THE VISTAPOSITION TITLE: HEALTHCARE ADMINISTRATORRESPONSIBLE TO: SENIOR ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICEREXPOSURE LEVEL: CATEGORY IIIEXEMPTION STATUS: EXEMPT______________________________________________________________________________________SUMMARY: Responsible for the planning organizing, developing and directing of the day-to-day operation of The Vista at Mission Ridge in accordance with current Federal, State and local standards governing long-term care facilities.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION: Executive DirectionPlans, organizes, implements, evaluates and directs the day-to-day operation of the Assisted Living Facilities and its activities and programsDevelops, maintains and periodically updates written policies, procedures, reference materials, manuals, objectives and philosophiesOversees and coordinates the planning and administration of operating budgets and contracts; participates in the overall fiscal planning for the organizationManages daily administrative operations of the organization; provides direct supervision of subordinate employees including planning, assigning, and organizing work; interviews and hiresMonitors activities to ensure we are maintaining our quality improvement program.Provides market research and analysis; prepares research-based reports and sales forecasts for senior managementCoordinates with marketing to manage occupancy for The VistaAttends meetings and participates in various committeesIs expected to be part of the on call teamESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION: SupervisionHire, coach, educate, evaluate and discipline assigned employeesIdentifies and arranges for training needs of staffComplete staff performance reviews and initiate proper personnel paperworkResponsible for oversight of the employee schedules and coverageESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION: NursingOversees the care of all elders in assigned areasEnsure assessments are complete for eldersAdministers or facilitates administration of nursing treatmentsWorks closely with physicians to determine appropriate careResponds to and leads emergency situationsEnsures complete medical records on eldersInitiates and provides monthly details to LTC Insurance Co as neededPerforms record keeping according to policies developed by St. John’s United in accordance with State and Federal RegulationsEnsures assessments of Elders for determination of Assisted Living Category A, B, or CAssists nursing staff when necessaryPromotes the Elder’s well-being and satisfaction by supporting elder-centered care while working as a member of the Clinical Support Team.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION: LeadershipDevelop referral and support relationships with Elders of all care levelsFacilitate Service Plan Meetings and other family meetingsWorks closely with hospital Case Managers on appropriate discharge planning for current EldersCoordination of appropriateness of Admissions, Discharges, and/or TransfersRepresents the facilities at weekly Case Management and Medicare Meetings as neededAssists with tours and other marketing opportunities to families and communityFacilitates appropriate staffing levels and scheduleParticipate in community activitiesManages and processes development and Quality ImprovementESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION: Dining Services and HousekeepingWorks collaboratively with our partners to ensure that dining and housekeeping services meet expectations.Performs other duties as necessary to ensure a pleasant atmosphere and timely mealtimesESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION: SafetyObeys safety rules of St. John’s Lutheran MinistriesIdentifies, reports, and/or corrects obvious safety hazardsAttends mandatory safety in-servicesUtilizes proper body mechanics when transferring EldersFollows established policies and procedures when exposed to blood/body fluidsWears and/or uses safety equipment and supplies (i.e. gait belts, mechanical lifts, personal protective equipment)ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION: Mission/Customer ServiceSupports the growth and actively engages in the Eden Alternative philosophy, including a work environment with plants and animalsFollows the St. John’s Guidelines for Customer Service:Let the Mission be your guideMake eye contact and smileGreet & welcome each and every personSeek out personal contactProvide immediate service-listen & actUse appropriate body language at all timesBe gracious to each & every personESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION: Employee ResponsibilitiesFollows policy and procedures on annual TB testing.Follows policy and procedures on annual influenza vaccinations.Attends all mandatory in-servicesAttends and participates in scheduled training and educational classes to maintainlicense in accord with the State of MontanaPerforms other duties as assignedREQUIREMENTS:Minimum Requirements: Knowledge and skills acquired through completion of post-secondary education. Knowledge of Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel software preferred. Must possess, or be in process of obtaining a Montana Nursing Home Administrators License or a Certificate of Administration from the AL Federation within 6 months of employment. Minimum of 2 years administration experience, 5+ years preferred. Preferred Registered Nurse License.Skills/abilities: Must possess excellent interpersonal communication, problem solving and critical thinking skills.Complexity/Difficulty: Must be able to effectively work independently and solve elder’s problems and family members concerns. Must be able to delegate work to appropriate staff remembers to ensure all position responsibilities are being completed timely and accurately.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Requires minimal lifting functions. Requires moderate bending, standing and reaching activities.WORKING CONDITIONS:Normal office setting.
