Shipper II

Job Summary

This position is responsible for performing all activities related to processing shipments for domestic and international customers. It ensures our customers receive superior service and quality products. The role requires the ability to multi-task, prioritize daily workload and requirements, communicate effectively, work independently, and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Ship goods both domestically and internationally, including consolidating shipments.
• Schedule shipments with Freight Forwarders.
• Package and ship raw materials and finished goods in a timely and safe manner using various packaging techniques.
• Perform shipping functions accurately in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
• Enter all required data into the system while packing and shipping materials.
• Provide tracking information to various personnel and customers upon request.
• Regularly use scanners and barcode guns.
• Process outgoing mail using the Client mail center machine.
• Follow detailed shipping procedures accurately and efficiently.
• Participate in the company's Lean and Continuous Improvement programs.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Interact with members of the Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, and Finished Goods Departments.

Evaluation of Performance

• Ability to process and ship goods accurately and on time.
• Teamwork within the Shipping group.
• Provide a high level of customer service to both interior and exterior customers.
• Produce high-quality, defect-free work.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

• High school diploma or GED required.

Experience:

• Minimum of 1 year of customer service-related experience preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of related shipping experience preferred.
• Experience with shipping goods both domestically and internationally, as well as familiarity with consolidating shipments.
• Knowledge and experience processing shipments using various shipping software and systems such as UPS WorldShip, FedEx Ship Manager, and DHL Easy Ship Professional.
• Experience with Automated Export System (A.E.S.).
• Experience with generating shipping documentation such as airway bills, Shippers Export Declarations (S.E.D.'s), and Shippers Letter of Instruction (S.L.I.'s) for domestic and international shipments.
• Experience or training in hazardous materials shipping (e.g., Lithium-Ion batteries) preferred.
• Experience working with various databases.
• Knowledge and experience with U.S. export shipment regulations.

Skills:

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and closely with other team members.
• Must be able to lift 75 lbs.
• Knowledge in all areas of shipping functions.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced team environment.
• Professional, upbeat attitude and punctuality are essential.
• Willingness to take on additional responsibilities as needed.
• Excellent attention to detail.
