Job Title: RN - Emergency Department Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Care Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12-hour Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years, or 3+ years of Level 1 trauma center experience if first-time traveler License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC Must-Have: - Strong clinical decision-making skills - Ability to provide compassionate patient care - Familiarity with evidence-based practices Description: The position involves providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care in a fast-paced environment. The department is currently undergoing renovations to enhance facilities and capabilities. The unit is designated for Level 1 trauma and handles a variety of complex cases. Patients include those with traumatic injuries, medical emergencies, and various critical conditions. The average daily census ranges from 200 to 220 patients. Patient ratios may vary and will depend on clinical area and acuity. Required skills will be discussed during the interview process. Support staff includes ED Technicians, Unit Secretaries, Charge Nurses, and Critical Care Pharmacists. Technology includes Electronic Medical Records and various patient care equipment. Floating to a transition care area may be necessary based on staffing needs. Weekend rotations and holiday work will be part of scheduling expectations. The dress code includes wearing royal blue scrubs.
