Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Electrician role based in the Greater Chicago Area. The Electrician will install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in commercial and industrial settings, following local codes and safety regulations. Day-to-day tasks include reading and interpreting blueprints and technical diagrams, performing inspections, diagnosing issues, and troubleshooting electrical problems. The role involves testing electrical systems, collaborating with other trades and team members, documenting work performed, and ensuring that all installations and repairs meet company and regulatory standards. The Electrician will also help maintain tools and equipment and may support occasional emergency or after-hours service calls as needed. Qualifications Strong understanding of electricity principles and safe electrical practices. Hands-on experience with electrical work, including installation, maintenance, and repair. Proficient in troubleshooting electrical issues and performing diagnostic tests. Background or coursework in electrical engineering or a related technical field is beneficial. Valid electrician license or certification in Illinois, or eligibility to obtain one. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation. Knowledge of NEC, local electrical codes, and OSHA safety standards. Comfort working in commercial and industrial environments, including at heights or in confined spaces when required. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to safety. Reliable transportation to job sites across the Greater Chicago Area.
