Birdi Systems, Inc. (BSI) is seeking an experienced Installation Field Technician to support the installation, programming, commissioning, maintenance, and service of electronic security systems. This position requires U.S. Citizenship due to project and customer security requirements and the potential need to obtain government and airport security clearances.

This hands-on role requires strong technical expertise in Access Control and CCTV systems and involves working at aviation, transportation, government, and commercial facilities nationwide.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, program, test, troubleshoot, and maintain electronic security systems, including Access Control, CCTV, Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), video intercoms, and locking hardware.
• Perform system commissioning, diagnostics, repairs, and upgrades on existing security infrastructure.
• Install and terminate copper and fiber cabling, security devices, control panels, cameras, and network-connected equipment.
• Configure IP-based devices, network settings, servers, and security software platforms.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and respond to service calls in a timely manner.
• Provide customer training and technical support as needed.
• Maintain accurate service records, reports, and documentation.
• Follow company safety procedures, quality standards, and project requirements.

Qualifications:

• U.S. Citizen required.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Access Control and CCTV systems installation, programming, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with electronic security systems, low-voltage cabling, device terminations, and network-connected security equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting skills involving wiring, power, networking, cameras, controllers, and field devices.
• Ability to use diagnostic tools, multimeters, and testing equipment.
• Experience reading construction drawings and technical documentation.
• Ability to work independently and manage tasks across multiple job sites.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to obtain government and airport security clearances as required.
• Technical certification, trade school training, or degree preferred but not required.

Travel Requirements:

• 25–50% national travel to customer and project sites throughout the region.
