Job Goals:

• Responsible for ensuring the cleanliness of the school or facility, including cleaning, sanitizing, minor building repairs, and general maintenance.
• Develops and promotes good community relations among various community and school clientele.
• Ensures that building custodians are cleaning and maintaining assigned spaces appropriately and consistently.

Qualifications Desired:

• High School education or equivalent.
• 12 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to clean and maintain equipment and machines.
• Knowledge of basic maintenance and repair procedures.
• Knowledge of the use and handling of cleaning chemicals.
• Supervisory and workload management experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with staff, students, administration, and community members.
• Ability to train custodial staff on cleaning techniques and equipment use.
• Proficiency in technology (Email, Schooldude work order system, Master Library usage software).

Performance Responsibilities:

• Supervises, coordinates, and addresses all operations of custodial care for the assigned school.
• Monitors the day-to-day work of custodial personnel and communicates inconsistencies to the Operations Manager.
• Ensures custodians are cleaning rooms and areas according to the district's Cleaning Procedures.
• Maintains flexibility and works cooperatively with supervisors and coworkers.
• Performs general maintenance tasks related to the upkeep and operation of the facility.
• Utilizes Schooldude to document building issues requiring specialized maintenance services.
• Ensures the general security of the facility during the regular shift.
• Maintains inventory of cleaning supplies and materials for the assigned school.
• Oversees and participates in all aspects of snow removal: shoveling, snowblowing/plowing, and salt/sand treatment.
• Coordinates total building cleaning and maintenance during summer months; assists with district projects as assigned.
• Observes and ensures staff compliance with all district policies and procedures.
• Constant lifting of 520 pounds. Frequent lifting of 2050 pounds. Constant walking and standing. Frequent bending, reaching, squatting, climbing, and kneeling. Occasional crawling, sitting, and stooping. Ability to work in conditions requiring exposure to hot or cold temperatures for extended periods.
• Checks Master Library software for all special events at the assigned location. Oversees the setup and breakdown of special events.
• Performs other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as assigned by administration.
