Job Title: CNC Machinist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist with experience machining materials to produce precision components. The ideal candidate understands the unique properties of metals and can set up, program, and operate CNC equipment to meet tight tolerances and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up, program, and operate CNC mills to machine components
• Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models
• Select appropriate tooling, speeds, and feeds for various materials (Aluminum, Steel, Stainless, Copper, Brass and Plastics)
• Monitor machining processes and make adjustments to ensure part quality and dimensional accuracy
• Perform first article inspections and in-process quality checks using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
• Optimize programs and setups to improve efficiency and reduce material waste
• Troubleshoot machining issues and recommend process improvements
• Maintain clean and organized work area and follow all safety procedures

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of CNC machining experience
• Experience with CNC programming (G-code; CAM and CAD software is a plus)
• Strong understanding of Metals and Machining speeds and feeds.  
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Aluminum, Steel, Stainless, Brass, Copper and Plastics.  
• Knowledge of tool wear characteristics when machining
• Experience with 3-axis or 5-axis CNC machines
• Ability to perform minor machine maintenance

Working Conditions:

• Shop environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and plastic chips
• Standing for extended periods and lifting materials (up to ~50 lbs)
