SAP Business Analyst

SAP Business AnalystClient is tasked with working with taxpayer records in order to conduct an audit to ensure proper collection and remittance of state taxes and fees. The majority of large taxpayers use SAP Financial Accounting Systems. To ensure that we have the optimum solution for current and future processing needs, we are requesting an independent contractor (Worker) to analyze current procedures and identify business process improvements to extract SAP data needed to conduct audits, document these procedures, and train our employees so that they can assist taxpayers in extracting the data we need.The Worker will need to perform the following tasks and assignments:Review, analyze and refine (as needed) current SAP handling proceduresDevelop procedures for extracting data and creating reports (output/data set-functional for to the Tax Auditor)Present proposed solutions to project team members for validation including identification of any restrictions or limitations in the solution.Provide technical solutions and assistance for the SAP FICO software (SAP – solution manager, resources planning, Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise Resource Planning, Solution Manager)Prepare a solution deployment plan.Participate in weekly review sessions.Work closely with technical lead, Project Manager (PM) and subject matter experts.Follow the standard CPA guidelines and procedures for performing contracted services.Transfer working knowledge to current staff.The Worker must have experience in industry/consulting hand on work in SAP with strong knowledge of SAP. They must also have experience in writing functional specification/configuration documents.Worker skills and qualifications (Required):Knowledge of US accounting processes and requirementsAbility to document and analyze business process flows to propose and implement improvements.Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skillsMust be able to work independentlyMust be able to work in a diverse team environmentMust possess problem-solving skills and ability to multi-taskMust be able to retain knowledge of environment and systems once given instructionKnowledge of project management and software development methodologiesKnowledge of SAP database design and functionalityKnowledge of SAP financial reporting functionalityMust be able to work around projects and deadlines with readiness to put in extra efforts when necessaryPerform related work as assignedQualificationsMinimum Requirements: Experience and working knowledge in industry/consulting work in SAP. - 8 years Experience with SAP databases and familiarity with the reports that SAP produces. - 8 years Experience with business processes in identifying as-is processes and to-be processes. - 8 years Experience with configuring scenarios in relevant SAP modules and writing functional specifications/configurations documents. - 5 years Utilizing time management techniques effectively/efficiently in order to complete multiple assignments within a scheduled time period - 3 years Skilled in identifying and resolving problems by using strong analytical techniques, innovative approaches and taking initiative in preventing and solving problems. - 3 years Extensive experience with complex application and data security requirements - 3 years Preferences: SAP FICO Functional Consultant; CPA license Working Data Extraction - 3 years Public sector experience (Federal, State or Local Government). - 3 years Proficient with the Microsoft Office products, including MSWord, Visio, Excel and PowerPoint. - 3 yearsAdditional InformationAns.
