Accounting Clerk (AP-Focused, Growth Opportunity into AR/Billing) Location: Rockwell, NC Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM) Work Model: On-site during training; hybrid flexibility available (typically 1–2 days/week remote after ramp-up) Compensation: Accounting Specialist (experienced): $24–$25/hour Position Overview We are seeking an Accounting Clerk to join our regional accounting team supporting a multi-state operation. This role will begin with a strong focus on Accounts Payable (AP) and offers a clear path to expand into Accounts Receivable (AR), billing, or broader accounting functions within 3–12 months . This is a great opportunity for someone early in their accounting career who is eager to learn, grow, and take on additional responsibilities over time. Key Responsibilities Perform high-volume invoice data entry (approximately 36,000+ lines annually) Match packing slips to invoices and ensure accuracy Review invoices for discrepancies and resolve errors Reconcile vendor statements and respond to inquiries Communicate with internal departments to resolve accounting issues Maintain organized filing systems (digital and physical) Assist with monthly tracking and reporting using schedules Support additional accounting functions as the role expands (AR/billing) Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent required Associate’s degree in Accounting or at least 1 year of relevant accounting experience preferred Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook Excellent data entry skills, including 10-key accuracy and speed High attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Strong time management and organizational skills Preferred Background Experience in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, billing, collections, or staff accounting Exposure to high-volume transactional environments Interest in growing into a more advanced accounting or billing role What We’re Looking For Detail-oriented with a strong sense of ownership Adaptable and teachable with a willingness to learn new processes Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams Comfortable with repetitive tasks while maintaining accuracy and efficiency Team & Training Join a collaborative accounting team of 7 members Report directly to Jason (Hiring Manager) Hands‑on, in‑person training with a highly adaptable learning process Exposure to multiple accounting functions over time This role is designed with development in mind.
