Details for Accountant Position:

• $17.00 to $23.00/per hour, based on experience
• 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday

Job Duties for the Accountant Position:

• Recording transactions in the appropriate company account ledgers using spreadsheets and accounting software
• Reviewing account ledgers for accuracy and correcting errors, such as duplications or typos
• Preparing and filing basic financial documents, such as income statements, profit and loss (P&L) statements and totals by account
• Reconciling bank statements and credit card accounts to ensure accuracy
• Organizing receipts, invoices, and physical copies of financial documents
• Assisting with tax payments and returns
• Record keeping and filing
• Maintaining compliance with financial reporting regulations, such as the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Shows strong math skills to calculate debits and credits to accounts and complete account reconciliations
• Process bi-weekly payroll for employees
• Displays an understanding of basic tax liabilities, including payroll and sales tax
• Familiarity with laws and regulations related to the preparation of financial statements
• Analytical skills to identify errors or discrepancies
• Communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Desired Skills for the Accountant Position:

• Associate's degree or higher Required
• Experience in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and/or Data Entry required
• Comfortable using accounting software; the company currently uses Deltek and Vantage Point system(s)
• Confident using Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Powerpoint and other related software as needed
• Displays clear, polite and professional communication skills
