PRN Licensed Vocational Nurse

Overview National EMR consistently seeks talented and hard‑working individuals who are eager to assist impacted communities and first responders on an “as needed basis” as reservist employees. Reservists are part of an elite, all‑hazards response cadre who work intermittently, commit to working when needed, and can be deployed within 24–48 hours. This is NOT a full‑time job. Education and Licensure Graduate from an accredited Licensed Vocational Nursing Program or Licensed Practitioner Nursing Program. Must hold a current LVN or LPN license in the state of residence; Compact license preferred. Experience Two (2) years of nursing experience. Pediatric and adult nursing experience preferred. Required Incident Command System (ICS) Courses ICS 100b – Introduction to Incident Command Systems ICS 200b – IPC for single resources and Initial Action Incidents ICS 700a – National Incident Management Systems (NIMS) and Introduction ICS 800b – National Response Framework, An Introduction ICS 300 – Intermediate IC for Expanding Incidents (must be completed upon hire) ICS 400 – Advanced IC Command and General Staff – Complex Incidents (must be completed upon hire) Course may be waived upon hire but must be completed within 3 months of hire or risk termination. Responsibilities and Duties Understand and adhere to the National EMR Policies and Procedures Manual, Uniform Handbook, and Operations Manual. Foster a culture that encourages team members to work safely, identify potential hazards, and report safety concerns to the chain of command. Maintain active status within the agency’s platforms, including learning management systems to complete training. Complete all nursing duties and provide health‑care services in compliance with regulatory authorities and program protocols. Effectively communicate with supervisors and health‑care providers regarding protocols and care of the service population. Maintain all written and electronic medical health‑care records. Prioritize confidentiality of records in compliance with HIPAA, PHI requirements and NEMR confidentiality protocol. Accurately document nursing activities per agency policies and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and supervisors regarding best practices and protocols. Other duties as assigned. Requirements Adhere to professional integrity, accountability, and all applicable laws. Provide proof of a valid driver’s license and a driving record in good standing. Demonstrate ability to: Respond sensitively to diverse cultural and socio‑economic characteristics. Work collaboratively with staff, providers, and clients. Maintain professional people skills and non‑verbal communication skills. Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, in English. Maintain composure in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment while making decisions for the program. Possess intermediate to advanced computer literacy (Microsoft Suite). Be detail‑oriented and organized. Work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Utilize multiple communication systems for situational awareness. Engage in physical activity (walking, stretching, bending, occasionally lifting >50 lbs). Work extended, non‑traditional hours (weekends, evenings, holidays, austere conditions). Provide current physical‑medical release and proof of immunizations or valid exemptions for influenza, MMR, varicella, HepB, HepA, tetanus, PPD/IGRA/chest x‑ray, and optionally meningococcal. Successfully pass a scheduled or spontaneous drug screening/background check.
