Job Title: Occupational Therapist Profession: Occupational Therapy Specialty: FS Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 40 Experience: Acute and trauma experience required License: Current Oklahoma license preferred Certifications: Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire Must-Have: Knowledge of the principles and practices of professional occupational therapy. Skill in organizing and instructing occupational therapy activities. Ability to interpret prescriptions related to therapy needed. Good interpersonal skills to establish effective working relationships with staff. Ability to communicate instructions and technical information to patients. Some computer skills. Description: Under general supervision, performs professional occupational therapy activities. These activities consist of planning, evaluating, establishing, and implementing individual and group treatment activities under the direction of a physician. Interpret a physician’s referral and select an appropriate standardized evaluation procedure. Evaluate patients in various areas such as independent living skills, occupational performance, and psychosocial skills. Interpret evaluation data and develop a treatment plan involving short and long-term goals, frequency, and duration of treatment. Assist patients in carrying out procedures through the design and fabrication of adaptive equipment and orthotic devices. Inform patients and families about goals and progress. Assist with discharge planning by ordering equipment and instructing patients on home therapy plans. May supervise students. Performs other duties as assigned.
