American National Insurance Company was founded in 1905 and is headquartered in Houston, TX, with several locations across the US: League City, TX, Springfield, MO, and Glenmont, NY.
Our Summer Internship Program is designed to provide students with meaningful, real-world corporate experience while helping build a strong, long-term talent pipeline for American National. The program blends hands-on, role-related project work with intentional learning, leadership exposure, business education, and relationship-building opportunities.
Our 2027 summer internship program begins on Monday, May 24 and ends on Friday, August 6. An optional extension to August 13 is available. Intern positions are paid hourly with a full-time schedule of Monday through Friday, 37.5 hours per week, for the entirety of the program.
Minimum Eligibility Requirements

• Enrolled in an accredited college or university
• Junior standing or higher by the start of the internship; May 2027 graduates are welcome
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
• Available to work 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday
• Able to work onsite at the posted role location

Skills You'll Build

• Our intern will assist with Pension Risk Transfer pricing projects that will impact several areas of our workstream.
• Our intern will gain both a technical and high-level understanding of the PRT pricing process, including the actuarial, financial, and operational work that occurs behind the scenes when a premium is submitted.
• Our intern will develop actuarial and business skills throughout the internship.

Tools and Technical Exposure

• Excel, VBA, Python, PowerPoint, AI Tools (Copilot), SQL

Qualifications We're Looking For

• Actuarial coursework (probability and statistics, life contingencies, financial math), Excel and coding skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Sound problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities
• Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and work independently
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to accuracy
• Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing needs
