About the Role: We are looking for a Senior Operations & Accounting Business Analyst to support strategic books-and-records, middle-office, and back-office transformation programs for a leading financial services client. This role is focused on operational accounting and control workflows across portfolio accounting, partnership accounting, fund accounting, trade processing, settlement, reconciliations, cash and wire processing, asset servicing, loan servicing, and related operational platforms. The successful candidate will partner closely with Operations, Controllers, Technology, Product, and Data Engineering stakeholders to translate business pain points into structured delivery inputs, including epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, control requirements, and UAT plans. This is a highly consultative delivery role requiring deep domain knowledge of investment operations and accounting, strong business analysis discipline, and practical AI literacy. Candidates should be able to identify where AI, agentic workflows, and automation can streamline operational processes while maintaining appropriate controls and oversight. Key Responsibilities: Partner with Operations, Controllers, Technology, Product, and Data Engineering teams to define requirements for books-and-records and operational transformation programs Analyze current-state workflows across fund accounting, partnership accounting, portfolio accounting, trade processing, settlement, reconciliations, cash movements, and operational exception management Support the design of workstation and workflow capabilities that provide visibility into fund administrator activity, trade breaks, reconciliation breaks, cash breaks, pricing impacts, and other operational exceptions Document business processes, data flows, control points, operational handoffs, and target‑state operating model requirements across middle‑office and back‑office functions Translate business needs into epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, functional requirements, process flows, test scenarios, and implementation‑ready delivery inputs Work with development teams throughout the SDLC to clarify requirements, support solution design, validate functionality, coordinate UAT, and drive adoption Assess opportunities to apply AI and automation to controller support, exception triage, data standardization, workflow routing, break analysis, and operational oversight processes Help streamline workflows for private credit, loan products, asset servicing, and loan servicing operations where fragmented data sources and manual processes create operational complexity Evaluate platform and data impacts across accounting and operations ecosystems, including vendor, internal, and external data sources Facilitate workshops, requirements sessions, demos, and stakeholder discussions with business, operations, technology, and data teams Experience Requirements: 8+ years of experience within Asset Management, Capital Markets, Financial Services, Investment Operations, Fund Accounting, or related middle‑office/back‑office functions Strong understanding of operational accounting processes, including fund accounting, partnership accounting, portfolio accounting, general ledger‑level detail, and administrator oversight Direct experience supporting middle‑office and back‑office operations, including trade confirmations, settlement, reconciliations, cash breaks, pricing exceptions, asset servicing, and operational controls Experience with outsourced operating models, fund administrator monitoring, operating control frameworks, and exception‑based oversight Experience with accounting and operations platforms such as Geneva, FIS VPM, Investran, or comparable fund accounting, portfolio accounting, and operations platforms Credit product experience strongly preferred, particularly private credit, loan servicing, syndicated loans, or other credit‑oriented operational workflows Ability to understand the full post‑trade operational lifecycle, including what happens after trade confirmation and settlement from an accounting, reconciliation, and controls perspective Strong Agile business analysis skills, including experience writing epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, process documentation, test cases, and UAT materials Practical AI literacy, including the ability to identify suitable AI use cases, understand AI capabilities and limitations, and integrate AI concepts into software delivery processes Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage directly with business stakeholders, challenge ambiguous requirements, and translate complex operational needs into clear delivery outcomes The base salary range for this role is $140,000 - $180,000, with flexibility for exceptional candidates.
