Part-time Direct Support Professional (Evening Shift)

Job Summary Burton Center is looking for a part‑time Direct Support Professional (DSP) to serve adults with disabilities and special needs. DSPs provide coaching, training, community advocacy, verbal prompts, and hands‑on support to promote the best quality of life for clients. Responsibilities Deliver person‑centered support to up to four adults in a Community Training Home (CTH). Implement training programs, encourage independence, and enable community engagement. Provide direct care including toileting, incontinence brief change, bathing, medication administration, and feeding assistance as needed. Teach and model a healthy lifestyle, preparing light meals from a designated meal plan. Follow individualized behavioral support plans and participate in planned outings, hobbies, or activities. Track client objectives and complete progress reports using the online system Therap . Operate Burton Center vehicles, use wheelchair lifts safely, and apply therapeutic options. Maintain Basic Life Support and MedTech certifications. Required Qualifications Valid South Carolina driver’s license. Ability to lift or maneuver up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for long periods. Team player, adaptive, and advocate for others. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Additional Requirements All newly hired staff must complete a mandatory three‑day in‑person orientation, MedTech training, and required online training before on‑the‑job training.
