TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PCU RN in Madison, Wisconsin, 53792!

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: IMC Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty. License: RN license required. Certifications: BLS, ACLS required. Must-Have: - Telemetry oncology, cardiac and progressive care unit experience required. - Ventilator and transplant experience required. Description: Traveler will work in both acute medical/progressive care unit and thoracic unit. Evening/night, 12-hour shift from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. Monday through Friday with every other weekend and some holidays required. Telemetry test must be passed prior to being cleared to start. The role involves caring for a variety of patients, including those with lung and esophageal diseases, lobectomies, and decortications. Assisting with procedures such as chest tube insertion in the procedure room within the unit is a key responsibility. The candidate will be part of a dynamic general care/IMC unit utilizing strong teamwork and providing compassionate care. Critical thinking and innovation are encouraged on the unit. Engaging in acquiring new skills and integrating evidence-based nursing practices into the unit culture is essential. Patient age groups include adults and geriatrics. Daily census averages around 7 patients. Interdisciplinary support is available, including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. Special patient diagnoses include esophagectomies, lung volume reduction surgery, wedge resection surgery, and cardiac surgery stepdown patients. ICU or IMC and surgical post-operative experience is required, and thoracic experience is preferred. Travelers are required to float as needed. The assignment may involve passing a telemetry exam, with strict passing criteria. If the traveler does not meet the criteria after two attempts, a certificate of completion of a cardiac interpretation review course will be required before a third attempt is assigned. Failure to pass after three attempts will result in assignment cancellation.
