Contract | Days | Onsite | Expected 36–40 hours/week | Every other weekend minimum required | Two major holidays per year required | Two 12-hour on-call shifts per 4-week schedule expected

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 20-bed Emergency Room/Trauma Center managing an average of 105 patients per 24-hour period at a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio (team care model in intake areas)
• Manage a diverse patient population including abdominal pain, chest pain, MI, stroke, geriatric, and high-acuity presentations
• Independently read and interpret cardiac monitor strips via central monitoring; perform EKGs as needed
• Manage ER holds as part of standard assignment; coordinate with floor resources when available
• Collaborate with ED physicians, mid-level providers, ED Techs, paramedics, and patient sitters within a team-based care environment
• Float between East and West campus Emergency Departments as needed; wear Navy Blue scrubs per dress code

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in Arizona or compact state eligibility
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience
• Required certifications: ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, and BLS
• Must successfully complete a facility SIMs Lab assessment covering Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes (pass/fail; strict sterile field competency required)
• Must take and pass a dysrhythmia exam with a minimum score of 80% within two attempts prior to contract signing
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; candidates may not have been employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity, within the past year

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Cerner EMR strongly preferred
• Familiarity with triage workflows and comfort performing triage independently when needed
• Experience managing psychiatric patients and working in environments with seclusion room protocols
• Comfort working with respiratory therapy equipment including vents, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen in an ED setting
