Position Overview

Sea West Enterprises, Inc. is seeking an experienced Traveling Construction Superintendent to oversee and manage field operations on specialty construction projects (astronomical observatories and communication ground stations) throughout the United States.

This is a hands-on leadership position for an experienced construction professional who can take ownership of a project in the field, coordinate subcontractors and crews, maintain production schedules, enforce safety requirements, and ensure the work is completed according to the plans, specifications, schedule, and quality standards.

Essential Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day field operations and overall site activities.
• Supervise subcontractors, trade partners, and field personnel.
• Coordinate manpower, materials, equipment, deliveries, and site logistics.
• Read and interpret plans, specifications, schedules, and contract documents.
• Establish and maintain project schedules and monitor progress.
• Coordinate daily activities with the Project Manager and project team.
• Conduct and document daily jobsite activities and progress.
• Monitor workmanship and ensure work complies with plans, specifications, and quality standards.
• Identify potential schedule, material, manpower, and construction issues before they become problems.
• Coordinate inspections, testing, and project closeout activities.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite.
• Enforce company safety policies and applicable OSHA requirements.
• Conduct and participate in toolbox talks and jobsite safety meetings.
• Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, inspectors, subcontractors, and vendors as needed.
• Review subcontractor performance and address field issues promptly.
• Assist with change orders, RFIs, submittals, and other project documentation.
• Maintain accurate project records, photographs, reports, and daily logs.
• Operate construction equipment as needed when qualified and authorized.
• Travel extensively to project locations and remain onsite for the duration of assigned projects.

Requirements & Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction field superintendent experience .
• Experience managing commercial, industrial, infrastructure, or specialty construction projects.
• Strong understanding of construction means, methods, sequencing, and scheduling.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Experience supervising subcontractors and multiple trades.
• Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with project teams, subcontractors, clients, and inspectors.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the field.
• Proficiency with construction technology, including digital plans, daily reporting, and project management systems.
• OSHA safety knowledge and a strong commitment to maintaining a safe jobsite.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to pass required background checks and meet project-specific site requirements.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout the United States.

Travel Requirements

Travel is a significant and essential part of this position. The Superintendent must be willing and able to travel to project locations throughout the United States and remain onsite as required by the project schedule.

• • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and remain onsite until the project is completed.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record approved under Company auto insurance.
  • Valid identification acceptable for domestic air travel per TSA requirements.
  • Ability to pass a federal background investigation and obtain access authorization for military installations and secure federal facilities.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States with required verification documentation.
