Job Title: Manufacturing Technician
Job Description

The Manufacturing Technician learns, documents, and troubleshoots complex mechanical and electrical assemblies to the component level, supporting both new product validation and ongoing production. This role develops and improves calibration, service, and test procedures, collaborates closely with engineering and technical support teams, and provides guidance and training to other technical personnel. The technician helps ensure high-quality equipment performance, accurate documentation, and a safe, efficient production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Learn, understand, and document complex mechanical and electrical assemblies used in equipment down to the component level.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical assemblies to identify and resolve issues at the component level.
  • Communicate with product development engineering on product performance and functionality issues during validation and pilot efforts.
  • Develop calibration, service, and troubleshooting procedures to support consistent and reliable equipment performance.
  • Provide technical assistance and guidance to other technical personnel involved in production, service, and testing.
  • Analyze errors in electronic design and production to identify root causes and recommend improvements.
  • Provide advice and feedback on corrective actions to address electronic and production issues.
  • Continually improve setup, calibration, and test procedures used on new equipment builds and service equipment orders.
  • Provide training on new product builds and service procedures to assemblers throughout the plant.
  • Assist the technical support group in addressing customer technical support needs.
  • Edit and query Microsoft databases to support production, testing, and documentation activities.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and promptly report unsafe conditions to a supervisor.
  • Complete other assignments and special projects as requested.
Essential Skills
  • High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 5 years of relevant technician experience.
  • Strong experience in production or manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to test, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair PCA circuit boards and complex instrumentation.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical devices down to the component level.
  • Ability to analyze errors in electronic design and production and contribute to corrective actions.
  • Skill in developing and following calibration, service, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Ability to edit and query Microsoft databases to support technical and production activities.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with engineering, technical support, and production teams.
  • Ability to follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean and safe work area.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Electronic Technology associate degree or certificate preferred with 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Alternatively, 2–3 years of electrical or computer engineering coursework as part of a bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in testing, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair of PCA circuit boards and complex instrumentation preferred.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical devices to the component level is a plus.
  • Experience responding to internal and external customers and developing a strong understanding of the business is a plus.
  • Ability to provide training and technical guidance to other technical personnel and assemblers.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to continuous improvement in procedures and processes.
Work Environment

This is a first-shift, on-site role with typical hours from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The position operates in a production and manufacturing environment working with complex mechanical and electrical assemblies, PCA circuit boards, and instrumentation. You will regularly use tools and equipment for testing, diagnostics, calibration, and repair, as well as computers and Microsoft database tools for documentation and analysis. The work setting emphasizes cleanliness, organization, and adherence to safety guidelines, with an expectation to maintain a safe work area and promptly report any unsafe conditions.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Paul, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $29.00/hr.
