Restructuring Associate, Scottsdale Office As a Restructuring & Turnaround Associate, you will work with professionals recognized as authorities across a diverse set of industries, and with the guidance of the most talented restructuring practitioners, you will drive changes that preserve and create value, impacting the world’s most recognized organizations and their people. Team Overview Our Restructuring & Turnaround practice has become one of the largest and most recognized in the industry. We have managed some of the largest crises in the world (e.g., Lehman Brothers and Arthur Andersen), and preserved iconic brands through restructuring (e.g., iHeart and Gibson Brands). How You Will Contribute You will be working closely with companies across a variety of industries to help under‑performing businesses navigate their restructuring process and create a lasting positive impact on the organization. We advise on every aspect of the restructuring process—from the strategy, to cash conservation and liquidity management, to business plan development and implementation—providing you with a wide range of experiences and projects. Leveraging your resourcefulness and independent judgment, you will help develop solutions to critical problems to improve an organization’s overall performance. You will apply your analytical skills and deep understanding of accounting and finance to diverse projects in turnaround, restructuring, bankruptcy, and performance improvement. Your involvement typically includes: Analyzing company financial statements Preparing financial models (e.g., 3‑statement modeling) Forecasting cash flows and managing working capital (e.g., 13‑week cash flow forecast modeling) Assessing key business operational performance drivers Developing and sensitizing business plans to aid management Developing and reviewing cost‑reduction initiatives and execution milestones Implementing cash conservation guidelines and controls Preparing bankruptcy documents (e.g., first day motions) Conducting liquidation analyses You will partner with clients to build consultative relationships, develop an in‑depth understanding of their processes, financial positions, and key operational drivers, surface and address key issues, and present analyses and insights to a variety of audiences. You will work alongside senior management and a team of experienced A&M professionals from a variety of backgrounds. You will handle pressure in stressful situations, prioritize multiple work streams, and build rapport with clients, legal counsel, investment bankers, and other stakeholders. Qualifications At least 2+ years of work experience in corporate restructuring, investment or commercial banking, and/or consulting or corporate positions with a financial or accounting focus BA/BS degree and/or MBA/MS in Accounting, Finance, or other related analytical fields Professional certification such as CPA, CFA, CTP, or CIRA, or demonstrated progress toward such certifications preferred Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint Able to function well under pressure and work independently while knowing when to seek guidance Creative problem‑solving skills with the ability to think through alternative solutions Efficient business writer and effective communicator Commitment to living A&M’s cultural values: integrity, leadership, objectivity, inclusive diversity, and fun Willingness to travel 100% Your Journey at A&M We prioritize an employee experience that fosters each person’s unique professional and personal development. The amount of vacation and personal days varies based on tenure and role type. Salary The salary range is $125,000—$145,000 annually, dependent on education, experience, skills, and geography.
