Job DescriptionPosition Purpose:Assists in coordinating the occupational health division, providing health care coordinated with Occupational Health RN Nurse Manager. Provides direct nursing care and supports workplace health and safety within a refinery environment. Focuses on injury/illness care, safe and healthy workforce in an industrial setting. Manage the end-to-end workers’ compensation claims process in compliance with state and federal regulations.Duties/Responsibilities:Provide triage, first aid and nursing care of employee health concerns/injuriesMaintain accurate medical records in compliance with OSHA, HIPAA and company policiesAdminister medications and treatments as ordered by physician or RNHelp coordinate Workers’ Compensation claims for URC, Kwik Fill and Country FairSupport workplace safety initiatives and participate in accident investigationsAssist with health education and wellness programs to employeesAssist with pre-employment/employee/CDL physicals/return to work/ fitness -for-duty evaluationsPerform DOT/non-DOT new hire/post-accident physical requirementsDrug and breath alcohol testingAdminister Hep B/Tetanus/annual flu injectionsEnsure proper stocking and maintenance of medical supplies and equipmentFirst Aid/CPR/AED InstructorMonthly inspection of AED machinesPerform Respirator Fit testsPerform Pulmonary Function testsComply with continuing educationRequired Skills/Abilities:HIPAA complianceStrong organizational/prioritization skillsComputer knowledgeStrong assessment, documentation, and communication skillsRegular and punctual attendance is required of all positions at United Refining CompanyPrograms/Equipment UsedBasic medical equipmentKeller OnlineWord and ExcelOffice equipment; printer, copier, scanner, fax machine, shredderPPERequired Education and Experience:· Current Pennsylvania Licensed Practical Nurse LicensePreferred Education and Experience:Minimum 1-3 years of clinical nursing experience (occupational health/ emergency care preferred)Familiarity with workers ’compensation case managementKnowledge of occupational health regulations and standards (OSHA, NIOSH) preferredCurrent Red Cross Certification to instruct First Aid/CPR/AEDWork Environment:OfficePeriodic plant entrance requiring PPEPhysical Requirements:Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbsWalking on uneven terrainAbility to sit for extended periods of timeMust be able to wear required PPE (e.G., respirator, hard hat, protective clothing)Must be able to work shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call rotationsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.
