Career Opportunity Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada has an exciting opportunity for a Lead Radiation Therapist in Las Vegas, Nevada. In this role, you will work with some of the best physicians in their fields while providing care to patients in a successful healthcare organization. Essential Functions Assists with interviewing, hiring, and training designated employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; and rewarding and disciplining employees. Serves as mentor to employees in radiation oncology department. Responsible for the instruction of newly hired radiation staff and radiation therapy students on all equipment applicable. Maintains patient appointment schedule and submits correct billing information. Accurately delivers and records radiation therapy treatments under the direction of a radiation oncologist. May assist in chart audits and QA procedures. May participate in development of QA procedures. Accurately interprets a computerized treatment plan. Accurately cuts blocks and makes custom molds. Accurately enters and maintains patient treatment parameters into the electronic medical record. Accurately completes simple MU calculation. May review and amend patient billing for accuracy. Responsibilities Graduate of an accredited radiation therapy program. Minimum five years actively practicing as an RTT. ARRT certification required. Valid state license for radiation therapy required. Qualifications Physical Demands: Must have the ability to utilize components of the treatment planning computer including but not limited to the use of keyboards, digitizers, trackball and mouse controls. Must be able to stand for eight hours; lift 40‑pound block to shoulder level; have sufficient visual acuity to distinguish structures and isodose displays on a computer monitor. Must be able to align treatment field and monitor patient during radiation therapy treatment; have adequate hearing and speaking capabilities to effectively communicate with patients and staff; have adequate mobility to assist patients on and off the treatment couch and document treatment.
