About the OpportunityThis is an open position within FirstEnergy Service Company, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. The reporting location for this onsite position is FirstEnergy Headquarters, located at 341 White Pond Drive, Akron, OH 44320. The Financial Reporting Analyst will work within the financial reporting team and with various other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting throughout the organization. The financial reporting team is responsible for internal financial reporting, subsidiary reporting, SEC reporting and other regulatory reporting. The financial reporting team is a valued business partner providing information, analysis and advice to ad hoc initiatives.The position reports to the Manager, Financial Reporting.Responsibilities include:Participating in the preparation and distribution of monthly internal financial statementsParticipating in preparation and analysis of cash flow statements for FirstEnergy and its subsidiary SEC registrantsParticipating in the preparation, documentation and analysis of the Company's periodic SEC and regulatory reporting and disclosuresProviding support and assistance to external auditorsAssisting with the development of written policies and procedures over the financial reporting processAssisting with development and maintenance of the integrity of the financial reporting process and internal controls over financial reportingParticipating in evaluation and implementation of new accounting standards and financial reporting requirementsProviding financial analysis to management for various ad hoc projectsInterfacing with and support various departments within the organization (legal, investor relations, treasury, etc.)Participating in various educational opportunities and attend various conferences to maintain knowledge of financial reporting requirements.Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required. Advanced degree or CPA preferred.Minimum 4-7 years relevant work experience. Relevant work experience will include experience within public accounting or financial reporting in a corporate setting.Strong technical US GAAP and SEC reporting knowledge preferredProficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)SAP knowledge preferredExcellent written and oral communication skillsBenefits, Compensation & Workforce DiversityAt FirstEnergy, employees are key to our success.
