Job Summary:
The operating room nurse (OR RN) specializing in open heart surgery in Iowa City, Iowa. The role involves scrub responsibilities for cardiothoracic, peripheral vascular, and transplant procedures, including heart and lung transplants, with a focus on cardiac cases. The position requires working evening shifts and participating in team rotations, including on-call duties, in a high-level trauma environment.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Evenings, with shifts totaling 12 hours. Minimum of 36 hours per week. The start date is scheduled for 09/21/2026.
• Required Qualifications: Certifications, education requirements, and a minimum of 2 years of strong cardiothoracic operating room experience. Candidates must have large Level 1 or Level 2 trauma experience. Must possess OR scrub skills with documented proof via OR scrub checklist included in the submittal packet.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with heart and lung transplants, peripheral vascular, and transplant procedures.
• Float: Float rotation is not required.
• Additional Information: The candidate must have demonstrated scrubbing skills specifically in cardiac procedures, including successfully managing complex surgeries such as transplants and trauma cases.
