Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman, Propulsion Systems, is currently seeking several Staff Technical Services Project Management (Level 5) to function as Operations Program Managers (OPM) to provide leadership to our team at our Northern Utah facilities.These roles will be located in Promontory, Clearfield and/or Magna/Bacchus, Utah. In this position, the OPM will lead production and/or testing and research activities in various phases of the program life cycle. Our domain provides rewarding work that contributes to the latest advancements being made in the missile defense industry.Role Description & ResponsibilitiesUnder the direction of the assigned Senior Manager, this position is responsible to lead all activities associated with a product family within the value stream.The OPM is responsible for delivering a product family through overall ownership and accountability of that product's value stream element including: acceptance of requirements, product and process design, planning generation, product manufacture, inspection, acceptance, testing and delivery to the downstream customer to meet cost and schedule requirements.Works closely with the functional organizations (e.g. design, S&MA, process engineering, supply chain and operations) to effectively and efficiently staff the team as required. Manages and ensures effective concurrent engineering through the oversight and integration of all engineering and processing disciplines. Requests, acquires and manages resources within a matrix organization as necessary to accomplish the goals of the value stream.The OPM is responsible for total team performance and works closely with the program office and plant functional organizations to accomplish program and company goals.The OPM's primary focus is the design, manufacture and testing of a defect free, highest value product that satisfies every customer requirement by focusing on and effectively integrating all elements and disciplines of the associated value stream. Special attention must be given to lessons learned that could affect or be applicable to multiple programs and processes.Duties IncludeAll design, reliability, safety, performance, cost and schedule requirementsLead in establishing and executing all operations plans, including material, manufacturing, integration of large and complex subassemblies with associated testingLead in proposal efforts for the operations team.The safety of personnel, facilities and product through the development and manufacturing lifecycle.Produced and procured designs, processes, suppliers, materials, facilities, inspection plans, tooling, etc.Establish methodology to ensure daily, weekly, and monthly objectives are achieved.Developing and maintaining a working knowledge of program scope, schedules, performance objectives, internal and external processes, guidelines, policies, and best practices, and ensuring that all functional team members are aware of and are compliant with these items.Managing financial performance of the value stream and its functional organizations. This includes tracking, reviewing and approval of change requests as needed for submittal to the Program Office.Initiate and lead value enhancement and waste elimination efforts for all aspects of the component value stream utilizing lean principles for continuous improvement.Work closely with other OPM's to ensure strong communication and collaboration is maintained.Identify project milestones, critical paths, and potential risks, and develop contingency plans to address them.Facilitate regular meetings and communications to keep all parties informed of project progress, changes and issues.Currently possess or must be able to obtain Secret security clearance.This position will be 100% on-site in Promontory, Clearfield or Magna, Utah. Candidates who express an interest may be considered for one of our three Northern Utah locations and for future positions at Northrop Grumman.Basic QualificationsBachelor's degree preferably in Engineering or related field with 12 years of experience in engineering, operations, program management, production, safety and product lifecycle OR Master's degree with 10 years of experience in engineering, operations, program management and production, safety and product lifecycleExceptional written and oral communications skillsExcellent verbal and written communications with managementProficient MS Project, Excel, Power Point and Word skillsAbility to work under limited supervision and complete projects on time and on budgetPreferred QualificationsActive or ability to obtain U.S. DoD Secret security clearance, or higherBachelor's and/or Master's degree in aerospace, chemical, electrical, mechanical, material sciences engineering, manufacturing, or physicsPrevious experience leading a multidisciplinary teamExperience implementing lean projectsExperience as a Control Account Manager (CAM)Experience managing a Product lineProject Management Professional (PMP) certified
