paid time off, long term disability, 401(k) Wage Rate $23.75/hour About This Position The Food Service Worker accurately and efficiently prepares and serves a variety of food items in a correctional setting. This position also utilizes a variety of food preparation utensils and machines to prepare food. The role includes physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods of time. Ideal Food Service Worker Passionate about food and service Has a solid understanding of food handling regulations Desires to always learn more Can work as a team member, as well as independently Can multi-task and adapt to changes quickly Is dependable and flexible Responsibilities Prepare and assist team members in the preparation of quality foods according to the planned menu, recipes, and work instructions in a timely manner. Clean as you go, maintain a neat and food‑safe workstation, pull trash, sweep, mop, and perform other duties assigned within the facility. Serve food during planned meal schedules and according to department policies and procedures. Utilize kitchen utensils/equipment to cook, prepare and serve food according to recipes, using proper utensils to serve menu portions and meet clients’ nutritional needs. Abide by all food safety regulations pertaining to sanitation, food handling and storage. Maintain a clean work area/environment including cleaning of refrigerators/freezers, cooking equipment, and serving equipment. Function in a fast‑paced environment, performing routine kitchen tasks while remaining organized and clean. Keep up with garbage collection and keep kitchen floors clean from excess food/trash. Perform other related duties as assigned.
