Material Handler Lead, 2nd shift - W16

Schedule: Monday – Friday: 4:00 PM – 12:30 AM Starting pay is $21.00 per hour. You will receive quarterly $0.50 per hour step increases during your first year of employment, bringing the pay rate to $23.00 by the end of the first year at RJW. Job Purpose The Quality Control Associate performs quality control functions, including checking pallets for construction integrity, identifying mis‑picks and misplaced cases. The Associate works with Inventory Control Clerks to correct errors and rebuild pallets. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Review orders to determine correct quantities, packing, and overall accuracy. Complete required QC sampling and load audit forms. Consult with supervisor regarding problems identified in the QC process, including quality issues not meeting standards and potential safety issues. Coach selectors on job quality and efficiency. Perform other duties and special projects as requested. Maintain good attendance and safe work practices. Maintain safeguards of confidential company information. Investigate customer complaints with supervisor. Perform driver check‑in duties by reviewing customer invoices for accuracy. Evaluate product returns and determine if product can be taken back. Additional Responsibilities Involved in training for Inventory Control Clerks. Process damaged material, ensure returned goods are properly inventoried, and monitor suspense inventory to ensure all is properly researched. Help maintain proper procedures throughout the warehouse by bringing incorrect practices to leadership. Read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence. Ensure compliance with inventory processes and contractual obligations. Physically count articles or products on shelves, racks, and pallets. Utilize computer terminals to account for inventory issues, returns, and documentation. Qualifications Minimum 1 year experience in QC role and/or product knowledge. Experience using WMS software a plus (Synapse preferred). PC literate with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access Database. Education And/or Experience Required High School Diploma or GED. Read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Read and write emails. Physically count articles or products on shelves, racks, and pallets. Forklift certification a plus. Language Skills Effectively communicate, read, write, and speak English. Mathematical Skills Add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Reasoning Ability Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization. Interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Determine root cause of problem and prescribe corrective action. Computer Skills Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite for creating emails and reports. Physical Demands Occasionally lift or move up to 55 pounds. Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Activate phone systems using keyboards and buttons. Speak and communicate clearly in front of others. Work in indoor environment with standing and repetitive hand motion. Talk, hear, stand, and walk frequently. Work more than 8 continuous hours when required. Work under stressful situations, maintain accuracy, concentrate on multiple tasks. Read and discern visual images with 20/20 corrected vision. Speak and communicate clearly over telephone. Be in sound physical health as determined by a physician with no controlled substances. Work Environment Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles. Noise level ranges from quiet to moderately loud.
