Data Records Specialist

We are seeking a Records Management Specialist to join the Information Governance team at a law firm located in Detroit.This position is ideal for an individual who is exceptionally organized, detail-focused, customer-oriented, and proficient in handling both physical records and information systems. The primary responsibility will involve assisting attorneys, legal teams, and administrative personnel in managing client and firm data in compliance with established protocols.DutiesEnsure accuracy of records for on-site files, containers, barcodes, and storage areasUpdate and monitor information in the firm's records management softwareProcess requests from legal professionals and administrative teamsAid in the movement of physical files related to client mattersReview, categorize, index, and document physical records following firm guidelinesAssist in managing records retention, disposal, and destruction processesGenerate reports and metrics on records management activitiesConduct training sessions for office staff on records and data proceduresCollaborate with Information Governance leaders and teammates to enhance office workflowsSupport additional information management initiatives as necessaryQualificationsMinimum of a Bachelor's degree or relevant experience in an office, legal, administrative, or records-related settingProficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPointPrevious experience in information management, records keeping, or legal document handling is advantageousKeen eye for detail with exceptional organizational abilitiesAbility to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environmentExcellent communication skills and a strong focus on customer serviceComfortable engaging with attorneys, staff, and teams from different office locationsThis role presents an excellent opportunity to grow and thrive in the field of legal information management alongside an established team of professional services experts.
