Devops Engineer

Senior DevOps & Back-end Engineer – Strategy & Corporate Finance Contract Length - 12 months (with potential extension) Rate - Flexible – Dependent on Experience (DOE) About the Role We are working with a world-leading strategy and corporate finance organisation that builds advanced financial intelligence and analytics platforms used by senior decision-makers globally. You will join a high-impact engineering and analytics team responsible for designing, scaling, and operating cloud-native systems that process large volumes of complex data. The environment is fast-paced, technically strong, and encourages ownership, autonomy, and engineering excellence . This role offers a strong balance of DevOps leadership (≈80%) combined with hands-on backend development (≈20%) . Key Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain AWS-based cloud infrastructure supporting data-intensive platforms Manage and optimize Kubernetes clusters (EKS preferred) for microservice orchestration Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using modern DevOps best practices Configure, manage, and optimize databases and messaging systems including: MongoDB Kafka Ensure high standards around: System reliability and performance Disaster recovery and resilience Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting to ensure platform stability Contribute to backend development using Scala (preferred) and Python Build and maintain APIs, microservices, and data processing pipelines Work closely with other engineers to ensure clean, maintainable, and well-tested code Support product, analytics, and business teams by delivering scalable technical solutions Required Skills & Experience DevOps & Infrastructure Strong hands-on experience with AWS , Terraform , and Kubernetes Solid experience with Docker and Linux-based systems Experience managing PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Kafka CI/CD experience (GitHub Actions preferred) Strong understanding of monitoring, logging, and system observability Development Experience developing and debugging Scala/JVM-based applications and Python services Good understanding of: RESTful APIs, Microservices architecture, Data-intensive backend systems Why Apply Work with a globally recognised strategy & finance organisation High ownership role with real technical impact Strong mix of DevOps leadership and backend engineering Fully remote contract with competitive rates #J-18808-Ljbffr
