Job Title: School Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Staff Augmentation Duration: 38 Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM Experience: Minimum of three years preferred in pediatric nursing or urgent care nursing License: Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse licensed in the Client Certifications: Current CPR Certification Must-Have: Eligible for Arizona School Nurse Certification Description: Evaluate healthcare needs of students. Maintain records as deemed necessary by the school physician and in compliance with state laws. Administer medications and maintain records, including dosages and side effects. Educate students in personal hygiene and total health care. Keep current medical records on each student. Conduct routine surveys and annual screenings. Keep parents informed of student health status. Manage student emergencies related to accidents and healthcare. Communicate student healthcare needs to instructional staff. Take sign language classes for communication with deaf students. Good knowledge of assessment and treatment of children aged four to twenty-two years. Possess planning, organization, and communication skills. Injury assessment skills are helpful. Must utilize appropriate personal protective equipment as required.
