Registered Nurse Wound Care Certified

Responsibilities The Wound & Ostomy Nurse utilizes the nursing process to develop a comprehensive wound care program, based upon assessed needs. Provides guidance and educational programs to all staff. Works autonomously, sets priorities and makes independent decisions of a complex nature. Interfaces directly with the public, physicians, staff, patients, administration and ancillary/support department representatives. Maintains confidentiality of patients’ medical record. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred. Registered Nurse license by the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners. If compact license held, RN is required to obtain a Texas RN license within 90 days of hire. BLS required per St. David’s policy. Certification in Wound Care and Ostomy Care within 2 years of employment. Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in the area of expertise or in an acute care facility.
