Locums Cardiothoracic Surgery Lansing, MI (MI license required; no IMLC) Why This Role

2+ weeks per month
Level I trauma setting
Dedicated CV surgery ORs
Broad cardiac + thoracic surgical scope
Ongoing coverage

Assignment Details

Start/end: As soon as credentialed; ongoing
Schedule: Minimum 2 weeks/month; Monday-Friday clinical hours + night call
Call: Night and weekend call; 7am-7am coverage
Coverage type: Scheduled clinical hours + call
Volume: 1 case per weekend
Setting: Adult hospital-based Cardiothoracic Surgery; Level I trauma center
Support: 2 dedicated CV Surgery ORs during daytime hours
EMR: Epic
Credentialing: 90-120 days

Clinical Details

Required scope: Adult cardiac and general thoracic surgery
Required scope: CABG and heart valve repair/replacement
Required scope: Tube thoracostomy and pericardial window
Required scope: Thoracotomy including lung biopsy, lung resection and pneumonectomy
Required scope: Thoracotomy decortication and mediastinal surgery
Must be comfortable practicing independently

Requirements

Board certified in Cardiothoracic Surgery
License: Active MI license required; IMLC not accepted
BLS, ACLS and PALS
Active DEA

Compensation

Rate negotiable, open to your number
Malpractice provided
Travel and lodging reimbursed
