Unit Secretary Per Diem, Nights - Labor and Delivery

Position Summary The Unit Secretary performs a variety of general clerical and non‑clinical patient duties, facilitates communication, expedites interdepartmental services, and maintains records required on the nursing unit. Reporting to the Clinical Unit Supervisor, the Secretary supports the hospital mission and core values and contributes to the strategic plan and quality improvement activities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Attend Super User training for the Care Collaborative System. Participate in integrated testing for the Care Collaborative System. Assist in training new employees on the Care Collaborative System. Help set up unit equipment, supplies, and patient rooms. Assist with orientation of new employees. Create useful “How To” handouts for the Care Collaborative System. Perform any other duties assigned by the Nurse Manager to ensure the unit is ready for hospital opening. Position Requirements Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D. Equivalency. Minimum 1 year experience as a Unit Secretary in an acute‑care hospital. Basic computer skills; proficiency with an electronic medical record preferred. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Current Managing Aggressive Behavior (MAB) certification or completion within 90 days of hire. Compensation Hourly rate: $23.06 #J-18808-Ljbffr MLK Community Healthcare
