Tax Manager | Chicago | Up to $175K
We are partnering with an established public accounting firm on a Tax Manager opportunity for a CPA ready to take the next step in their career. This is a client-facing role with a strong mix of technical tax work, relationship management, engagement leadership, and team development. The ideal candidate will have experience working with high-net-worth individuals and pass-through entities and enjoy taking ownership of complex engagements while mentoring and developing staff.
What You'll Do
- Lead complex tax engagements from planning through completion
- Review individual and pass-through entity tax returns
- Advise clients on tax planning and technical matters
- Build and maintain strong client relationships
- Mentor and develop staff
- Manage engagement budgets, deadlines, and workflow
- Identify opportunities to expand client relationships
- Stay current on tax law and regulatory changes
What We're Looking For
- Active CPA license
- Tax management experience
- Strong individual and pass-through tax experience
- Excellent client communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to lead engagements and develop team members
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Business development experience is a plus
- Ability to work primarily in-office (4-5x a week)
