Schedule: Part time

Shift: Day (United States of America)

Job Description:

• Conducts group therapy using expressive therapy modalities in alignment with the Treatment Plan.
• Assesses patients' physical, cognitive, and emotional status to determine eligibility for group treatment.
• Provides Expressive Therapy Assessments for new patients.
• Documents patient progress at the conclusion of each group and individual session.
• Motivates patients to engage in Expressive Therapy and other unit activities.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of inpatient and intensive outpatient programs
• Knowledge of psychiatric diagnoses and therapeutic approaches for appropriate interactions and interventions
• Patient-centered approach with ability to connect with each patient
• Awareness of therapeutic boundaries and ability to monitor transference within the therapeutic relationship
• Computer knowledge and use of electronic medical records
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English

Education: Bachelor's occupational therapy, art therapy, music therapy, recreational therapy, or activity therapy

Field of Study: N/A

Work Experience: 1+ year experience working with psychiatric, physical rehabilitation or medical patients or other position related experience

Additional Information: Formal de-escalation training

Licenses and Certifications: Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) OR Occupational Therapist (OT) OR Basic Life Support CPR Cert (BLS)

Pay Range: $21.82 $40.59
