CNC Technician IIICNC Technician III in GAC SavannahThis is a 2nd Shift (1530-0210 M-T) position at a minimum for 6 months for training prior to consideration to 1st shift or weekend shifts. Must be willing to work Weekend Shift F-S-S (0400-1630) or Weekend Night Shift F-S-S (1600-0430)Education and Experience RequirementsHigh School Diploma or GED required. 5 years related experience or education to include two (2) years experience with similar automated equipment. Experience in PC applications preferred. ATPL (Airline Transport Pilot License) 60 Days preferred. Position Purpose: Set up and operate automated machines to fabricate parts, applying knowledge of shop theory and procedures, shop mathematics, maintainability materials and layout techniques.Job DescriptionPrinciple Duties and Responsibilities: Essential Functions:Download program files to set up machine for cutting/milling to blueprints and/or engineering documents.Test program and ensure machine is set up in accordance with drawings.Remove and/or replace cutting tools and offsets as required. Inspect condition of tools and replace as needed.Manipulate programs to fit inserts into material, ensuring fit and conformity.Inspect cut material/part prior to CNC operation to ensure conformity and compliance with blueprints, models, and/or engineering documents.Edge-fill and/or seal and sand panels.Identify material and appropriate cutting tools. Set up material and inspect for serviceability.Write and/or edit CNC programs based on blueprint specifications.Additional Functions:Train lower level CNC technicians.Monitor material supply.Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on machines.Complete paperwork and other documents as required.Maintain a clean and safe work environment.Comply with 5S and Environmental, Health and Safety requirements.Perform other duties as assigned.
