As an Access Control Officer at a utilities location, you will help support a welcoming, secure environment by managing access points, verifying credentials, monitoring entry activity, and communicating professionally with visitors and personnel. Position Type: Part Time Pay Rate: $21.25 / Hour Job Schedule: DayTimeThur04:00 PM - 12:00 AMSat04:00 PM - 12:00 AM What You'll Do: Provide customer service to personnel, contractors, and visitors at a utility location by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate. Monitor and control entry and exit points, verify credentials and authorization, maintain visitor and contractor access records, and report access discrepancies according to site procedures. Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and documenting events as required. Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned buildings, access points, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity; working environments and conditions may vary by location. Maintain awareness of utility-related operational areas and follow established procedures for restricted areas, deliveries, and employee or contractor movement. Minimum Requirements: At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks. Access control and badge experience is preferred. Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred. A guard card or license is preferred. Customer service experience is preferred. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
