It’s HIM | Hell’s Kitchen, New York City About the Role It’s HIM is seeking an exceptional Host who will serve as the hospitality leader and primary guest-facing presence on the floor. For this role, personality is everything. We are looking for someone who genuinely loves people and hospitality. Someone warm, charismatic, confident, engaging, highly personable, and naturally attentive. Someone who remembers faces, builds relationships with regulars, makes first-time guests feel immediately welcome, and can walk into a busy room and instinctively understand where their attention is needed. This is not a position for someone who simply wants to stand at the door, manage reservations, and seat tables. Our Host owns the guest experience and flow of service throughout the room. You should be the person who notices that a table has been seated but hasn't been greeted. You recognize when a bartender or server is becoming overwhelmed. You see a guest looking around for assistance before they ever have to ask for it. And when something needs attention, you take initiative to make sure it gets handled. We want every guest who walks into It’s HIM to feel welcomed, recognized, and taken care of. What You'll Do Create a warm, engaging first impression for every guest Greet, welcome, and seat guests Manage reservations and the flow of the room Develop genuine relationships with regulars and new guests Maintain constant awareness of the guest experience throughout the venue Recognize when guests need attention and proactively respond Monitor tables to ensure guests are being greeted and served promptly Support bartenders and servers when service becomes busy Take or communicate drink orders when necessary to keep service moving Direct immediate service needs on the floor Check in with guests throughout their experience Help resolve guest concerns professionally and graciously Maintain the atmosphere, presentation, and hospitality standards of It’s HIM Help ensure service standards and procedures are being followed Assist with the guest-facing execution of private events and special nights Communicate recurring service or operational issues to management Be a highly visible, approachable, energetic presence throughout service Who We're Looking For Above everything else, we are hiring for personality and hospitality instinct. The right person is: Exceptionally personable and naturally outgoing Warm, friendly, and genuinely interested in people Charismatic and confident without being overbearing Comfortable starting conversations and building relationships Highly observant and able to read a room Proactive and naturally inclined to take care of people Able to anticipate guest needs rather than simply react to requests Calm and composed during busy service Comfortable giving direction when something on the floor needs immediate attention A strong communicator with both guests and staff Polished and professional while still being fun and approachable Someone who takes pride in remembering guests and creating regulars Someone who understands the difference between providing service and creating an experience Previous experience as a Host, lead host, head host, hospitality professional, or in an elevated restaurant, cocktail bar, nightlife, or hotel environment is strongly preferred. Leadership experience is a plus Systems and procedures can be taught. Natural warmth, personality, awareness, and the ability to genuinely connect with people are what we're really looking for.
