Position Highlights:

• Position: Inpatient Pharmacy Manager
• Location: Main Hospital (2351 G Road)

 

Responsibilities:

• Direct and oversee the daily operations of the inpatient pharmacy department, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of pharmacy services including medication preparation, dispensing, distribution, and comprehensive clinical support. This includes managing workflows to optimize turnaround times, coordinating with nursing and medical staff to meet patient care needs, and ensuring accurate and timely medication delivery throughout the hospital. 
• Provide strong leadership, guidance, and mentorship to pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and support staff. Foster a collaborative and positive work environment that encourages professional development, continuous learning, and adherence to best practices. Conduct performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and support career advancement opportunities within the team. 
• Develop, review, and implement pharmacy policies, procedures, and protocols that align with current best practices, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements. Lead quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing medication safety, operational efficiency, and patient care outcomes. Regularly update policies to reflect evolving standards and innovations in pharmacy practice. 
• Oversee medication safety and clinical pharmacy programs, including formulary management, drug utilization review, and adverse drug event monitoring. Collaborate with the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee to evaluate new medications, recommend formulary additions or removals, and ensure appropriate use of pharmaceuticals across the inpatient setting. 
• Work closely with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to promote optimal pharmacotherapy and improve patient outcomes. Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and committees to provide expert clinical input, assist in developing treatment protocols, and support medication reconciliation processes during care transitions. 
• Ensure strict compliance with all applicable federal and state pharmacy laws, regulations, and standards, including those set by the Board of Pharmacy, Joint Commission, and United States Pharmacopeia (USP). Monitor regulatory changes, prepare for inspections, and lead corrective actions as needed to maintain accreditation and licensure. 
• Manage the inpatient pharmacy department budget, including forecasting, resource allocation, and cost control. Identify opportunities to optimize operational efficiency and reduce waste without compromising patient care quality. Oversee procurement processes, contract negotiations, and inventory management to ensure cost-effective medication supply. 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES  

• This position directly supervises the work of others.
• This position plans, monitors, and appraises job results; Conducts training; Implements and enforces systems, policies, and procedures; Maintains safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing organization standards and adhering to legal regulations; Completes operations by developing schedules, assigning and monitoring work, gathering resources, implementing productivity standards, resolving operations problems, maintaining reference manuals, and implementing new procedures. 

 

Requirements:

• PharmD or equivalent from an accredited pharmacy program. 

• Master of Business Administration (preferred) 

• Active pharmacist license in good standing. 

• 3–5 years of pharmacy experience, with prior leadership experience preferred. 

 

Compensation:

The anticipated compensation range for this position Is $69.00 - $79.35 per hour, commensurate with qualifications, education, experience, and other applicable factors. This position is exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Additional compensation may be available in the form of discretionary incentive or other compensation programs. Any such additional compensation is not guaranteed and is determined at the sole discretion of the organization based on applicable program terms, individual and/or organizational performance, and other eligibility requirements.

Additional Information:

• Relocation: Must relocate to Grand Junction, CO 81505 after starting work.
• Work Location: In-person/onsite
