About This Role The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) in Critical Care is a Registered Nurse responsible for supervising patient care, clinical personnel, and unit operations. This role is ideal for experienced nurses looking to lead and enhance patient-centered care in a collaborative environment. Highlights Location: New Britain, CT Facility: The Hospital of Central Connecticut Department/Unit: 91005-Critical Care Schedule: Full Time, Night shift What You'll Do Supervise patient care and clinical personnel in the critical care unit. Oversee daily operations of the assigned department, including off-shift and weekend supervision. Manage resources, quality improvement, and payroll. Create and maintain colleague schedules. Monitor patient throughput to facilitate efficient clinical operations. Ensure a safe and therapeutic unit environment, working as a staff RN as needed. Support leadership in fostering standards of excellence and professional development. Participate in and may lead Performance Improvement work in the department. Requirements Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing required; existing incumbents must obtain BSN within 3 years. Experience: 2 years of acute care nursing experience required. 5 years of Critical Care experience required; management roles preferred. 3-5 years of leadership experience required. Licenses & Certifications: Current Registered Nurse license in the State of CT. Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA).
