About the location Four Seasons Resort The Biltmore is located in Santa Barbara on the American Riviera. Job Title Assistant Director of Engineering What You Will Do Assist the Director of Engineering with all aspects of resort and building maintenance, including electrical, plumbing, steam, gas, fire & safety, HVAC, refrigeration, interior paint and decorating. Respond to inquiries and problems in an efficient, courteous, and professional manner to achieve maximum customer satisfaction while complying with all Four Seasons policies. Assist in hiring, training, supervising, scheduling, counseling, and evaluating maintenance staff and conduct daily spot checks. Ensure proper execution of work order/request system and coordinate follow up. Prepare requisitions for purchase and work orders and liaise with the Director of Purchasing. Implement preventive maintenance schedules, policies and rules to ensure departmental efficiency. Maintain logs on stock items and tools and monitor distribution. What You Bring At least 5 years of leadership experience in a hotel or resort environment with expert technical knowledge of general building maintenance and environmental standards, preferably on luxury properties. Bachelor’s degree in engineering, facilities management, or a related field is preferred. Strong experience managing capital projects, renovations, and new construction projects. Passionate and motivated leader with excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, integrity and transparency. Strong business acumen, eye for detail, and passion for service; commitment to continuous learning and professional development. Knowledge of and ability to operate computer equipment and system applications. Reading, writing and oral proficiency in English; Spanish preferred. Flexible schedule; ability to work all shifts, weekends and holidays, including day and evening shifts. What We Offer Salary range: $110,000 + bonus.
