Press Brake Operator

Job TitleSet up and safely operate 400 ton 12' CNC press brake to process/produce quality products requested by customer ordersJob DescriptionSelects steel:Uses caution to avoid damage to the steel.Uses tape measure and calipers to verify correct size of material.Uses color code to verify composition and/or thickness of material.Directs crane operator regarding the proper material to be brought to the Press Brake.Operates gantry crane/crane/forklift, as needed.Setup and verify accuracy of machine settings to confirm accurate tolerances for machine functions.Cuts steel:Hooks up Plate dogs to Plate and helps the crane operator guide the Plate to the correct position on the Shear table.Manually and mechanically places steel in the precise position for an accurate cut, per customer order.Accurately marks the material for shipment.Returns steel to stock:Marks all drops with heat numbers, other identifying numbers, and color codes to ensure the identity of the steel.Place drops in correct location.Uses caution to avoid damage to the steel.Must be able to lift, push, and pull 50lbs, frequently and readying steel for shipment storage.Must be able to climb ladder to search for material and hook up crane.Performs routine preventative maintenance on Press Brake and associated equipment.Keeps table and entire area clean.Ensures needed repairs are made promptly.Performs all tasks safely; obeys all safety rules.Performs other duties assigned by foreman as necessary to complete the shift.Physical RequirementsStand or Sit(Stationary position), Walk(Move, Traverse), Use hand/fingers to handle or feel (Operate, Activate, Use, Prepare, Inspect, Place, Detect, Position), Climb (stairs/ladders) or balance (Ascend/Descend, Work atop, Traverse), Stoop, kneel, crouch, or Crawl(Position self(to), Move), Talk/hear(Communicate, Detect, Converse with, Discern, Convey, Express oneself, Exchange information), See (Detect, Determine, Perceive, Identify, Recognize, Judge, Observe, Inspect, Estimate, Assess), Pushing or Pulling, Reaching, Repetitive MotionFunction in the JobMedium/Heavy work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.Required Skills70% Standing40% Walking40% Stooping/Bending40% Kneeling10% Hand use70% Pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs.20% Lifting up to 50 lbs20% Carrying up to 50 lbs.EEO StatementReliance, Inc.
