Personal Financial Counselor; Springfield, OH

Responsibilities Provide personal financial services at assigned military installations. Offer one‑on‑one counseling and consultation with a commander or other provider. Conduct briefings and presentations, and provide referral resources outside of counseling sessions. Assist service members in establishing spending plans for extended absences. Develop and distribute informational financial materials to service members and families. Coordinate, publicize, and deliver a wide variety of Personal Financial Management classes/workshops covering topics across the military lifecycle (e.g., arrival at first duty station, pre‑ and post‑deployment, and personal and career events outlined in DoDI 1322.34). Respond to requests for age‑appropriate classes or seminars. Utilize virtual counseling or other electronic modes of communication such as web‑based, secure online chat, or secure video teleconference. Manages duty‑to‑warn situations according to Department of Defense (DoD) protocol. Communicate with leadership and participate in regular individual and group supervision, sharing information regarding trends and issues on assigned installations. Participate in regular in‑services, training, quality‑improvement committees, or other contract activities as assigned or appropriate. Perform all other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree required. Associate degree plus 4 years of experience or high school diploma plus 6 years of experience may be considered. 3+ years of financial counseling experience. Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English. Bilingual in English and Spanish may be required by contract. Must obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation. Must pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process. Must hold one of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
