A privately held wholesale distributor serving the plumbing, heating & cooling, and industrial supply industries is seeking a dependable Delivery Driver (Non-CDL) to join its Richmond team.

About the Role

The Delivery Driver plays an important role in ensuring materials are delivered safely, accurately, and professionally to customer locations and job sites throughout the region.

Drivers typically begin their routes between 7:30 AM and 9:00 AM and are generally back in the early afternoon, depending on traffic, route assignments, and pickups. Delivery routes may include destinations throughout Virginia, Washington, DC, and Raleigh, NC.

Overtime is available, and employees typically work a minimum of 40 hours per week. One Saturday per year is required to support annual inventory.

What You'll Do

• Safely operate company vehicles in compliance with company policies and applicable regulations
• Operate box trucks, flatbeds, and pickup trucks as assigned
• Load, secure, transport, and unload materials at customer, vendor, and job site locations
• Review shipping documentation and verify order accuracy
• Obtain customer signatures and collect payments when required
• Resolve delivery discrepancies quickly and professionally
• Perform daily vehicle inspections and report mechanical concerns
• Complete delivery paperwork and manifests
• Assist with loading trucks when needed
• Use pallet jacks, forklifts, and other material handling equipment safely
• Maintain a professional and customer-focused attitude during deliveries
• Successfully complete required safety and compliance training

What We're Looking For

• At least 21 years of age
• Valid driver's license with a driving record that meets company requirements
• Ability to pass a DOT physical examination
• Ability to operate vehicles over 10,000 pounds GVWR
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work independently
• Positive attitude and openness to feedback
• Ability to adapt to changing routes, schedules, and equipment assignments
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
• Basic math skills
• Ability to build positive working relationships with customers, vendors, and teammates
• Ability to remain calm and effective in unexpected situations

Preferred Qualifications

• Forklift experience
• Experience making deliveries in the Richmond area
• Warehouse or material handling experience
