The Plant Manager is accountable for driving the safety, quality, productivity, and financial objectives of Phillys Best Steak. The Plant Manager is responsible for supporting operations by working closely with plant leadership and employees to guarantee compliance with the Production Schedule and planning process, Standard Operating Procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices, compliance with USDA standards, and Phillys Best Steaks specifications, policies, and procedures. This position will require collaboration with the Supply Chain, FSQA, Production, Maintenance, and Shipping & Receiving departments. This position will require a high level of visibility on the production floor and throughout the plant as well as solid leadership and management experience.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Contributes to the strategic direction of the Phillys Best Operations team
Evaluates staffing and training needs proactively
Demonstrates leadership through participation in core leadership processes such as development of division and manufacturing facility operating, capital and expense budgets, employee onboarding, and workforce planning and development
Fosters collaboration among various finance and operations-focused departments
Assists the Director of Operations with the creation, maintenance and training for all business processes and SOPs
Assists with creating and implementing strategies to reduce costs, mitigate risk, improve quality and capacity, increase output, and reduce inventory
Utilizes various tools like ERP, MRP, CRM, Power BI, and other software as needed
Reports regularly on operational effectiveness performance and departmental KPIs
Assists with optimizing operation costs, ensuring safety and financial performance, and achieving quality standards as set by the company
Champions a safety culture across the organization
Drives our company culture of respectful communication, transparency, and collaboration across all operations
All other duties as assigned
Requirements:Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelors degree from 4-year college/university in engineering, industrial manufacturing, business, or related field preferred
6-8 years experience in a manufacturing role required
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, ERP, or other pertinent software
Demonstrated strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills required
Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
Strong knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies and lean tools required
Lean six sigma certification preferred
Previous experience in leading and building a team is required
Must be able to assist with writing reports, policies, SOPs, processes, training programs, and manuals
Demonstrated project management skills
Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics
Experience in food manufacturing preferred
Experience with ERP systems required.
Experience with SQF codes is preferred
Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, and withstand cold temperatures for a full shift
