Duties and Responsibilities: First-chair plaintiff personal injury trials from jury selection through verdict. Manage complex personal injury matters through litigation and resolution. Develop trial strategy and prepare cases thoroughly for court. Conduct and defend depositions, including expert and fact-witness depositions. Draft and argue substantive motions and handle court appearances. Attend hearings, mediations, settlement conferences and case-valuation meetings. Negotiate high-value settlements with opposing counsel and insurance carriers. Work closely with clients, paralegals, experts and the firm’s support departments. Mentor junior and mid-level attorneys and provide guidance on litigation and trial strategy. Handle matters involving automobile accidents, premises liability, Labor Law, nursing-home negligence and occasional medical-malpractice claims. Core Requirements: At least 10 years of plaintiff-side personal injury experience. Strong courtroom advocacy, legal writing and negotiation skills. Ability to independently manage complex cases through verdict. Strong leadership skills and an interest in mentoring developing attorneys. Stable employment history and an interest in making a long-term move. Ability to work from the Port Washington office five days per week. Compensation and Benefits: Base salary of $250,000, depending on experience.
